Time Running Out for Pleasant Run Bridge

Several sources revealed that an advanced funding agreement between Dallas County and the City of Wilmer for the planned Pleasant Run Overpass (Bridge) was hand delivered by a county engineer to Mayor Don Hudson "several weeks ago". At the date of this writing (09/10/08), no action or approval on the funding agreement had been placed on the City Council Agenda. Click Here to Read the Dallas Morning News related coverage

The time frame in which to act on the agreement is drawing near (September 30). Our understanding of the situation is that if the agreement isn't acted upon and approved before the end of the current fiscal year, funding for the proposed bridge will become unavailable.

WPC verified with the District Attorney's office that an advanced funding agreement had been prepared and was in an "active" status. The DAs office verified that this type of agreement would definitely require the approval of the city council.

Mike Rader, developer of the Sunridge Business Park, was aware of the agreement, but was not aware of any problems or delays in getting the required approvals. He indicated that he expected the agreement to come before the city council before the deadline.

(ED NOTE: This story was delayed due to our recent medical leave. It's really an embarrassmet to be "scooped" by the Dallas Morning News on something this local.)

"Richard Allen, chief executive of the Allen Group, told commissioners that his company has spent the past three years and millions of dollars getting various development approvals from the two cities as well as others." Quote from DMN

This is the part that bothers me:
"...company has spent the past three years and millions of dollars getting various development approvals from the two cities as well as others."

This money is not the the Wilmer Bank account or the Water Department's Funds would not have been used to pay salaries. Whose bank account is it in?

There are always two sides to any situation, for example the Bribed and the Briber...somebody get some Balls and squeal. Both are guilty. Cut a deal and save yourself.
