Police Chief Gets New Car?? NOT

A drive-by of Chief Robert Wells residence at the corner of Goode Road revealed a "new" charcoal grey police car with no license plates parked (as usual) on the wrong side of the street in front of his house. Where did we get the money for that and why hasn't it been on any recent city council agendas?

There's not much else to say on this subject - so we'll reserve this space for updates, rebuttals and explanations from city officials. Obviously, no one could be reached for comment on a Saturday morning.

To Quote an Anonymous Source from our blog comments:
"The car was painted and a old car that was already part of the fleet.
As usual you don't check your story before you print and you are wrong
again."

We stand corrected - our sincere thanks for clarifying the question for our readers.

Thanks for explaining about the car's new appearance. We don't recall any expense approval items recently for new autobody paint. Still, we stand by our original facts - even if our implications may be held "unfounded". We fail to see error in what was described as a "new" car parked on wrong side of street without a visible license plate. The two-part question implies that no funds were approved (or perhaps that our memory was faulty).

What we find disturbing it that it appears that the city's assets are considered neither the business of the taxpaying residents, nor of the people's interest. Posed as a qestion - is the city's attitude that the city doesn't care, or is it that the public doesn't care? If either is the case, it's time for an attitude adjustment.

Maybe it's Maaco...or Maybe there are bigger problems at hand then where the heck the paint came from...

Blog Author
Here is an example, of course it will not show up on this blog. This blog only prints to its liking and not for all the citizens, just the negative 4 or 5.
Hudson is one man, just as the president is one man. He can not make things happen all by himself, the council has to approve, and for the president congress has to approve. So all of the negativity toward one person is really kinda funny. So really I myself would not throw rocks at glass.

Oh, how naive are you? The Mayor answers to noone. He can approve anything he wants to approve without their consent, and does. He is without supervision. The City Council members have no authority except when they are voting in a council meeting. They do not even have control of the agenda. The Mayor calls the agenda, the Mayor posts the agenda and the Mayor places the items on the agenda. If he wants it there, it is there. If he does not want it there where people will know what he is doing, it isn't there. He decides. If a council member wants something on the agenda and Hudson doesn't, he takes it off.

Now, do you understand why Hudson and his crazy family are a danger to Wilmer? Now do you understand why the historical stuff is important? Because he is still in office and a leopard does not change his spots! It is all important!!

Now, drink your drink and go lie down with the rest of the people, you will not feel a thing.

The CHIEF said it cost $1000.
The MAYOR does not like the CHIEF
and CHIEF does not like the MAYOR.
Who is telling the TRUTH? Both
are known to LIE.

This is for Jim Jones,
Aren't you the one that told lies to people to get them to follow you? Then had all of your followers take cyanide after you had a congressman killed at Georgetown airstrip. I think that maybe Hudson should have something to worry about with you still lerking around.

This car should have been brought before the council and should have been approved. But that is what happens in the real world. You are right the council has all the power, they are just refusing to use it. OR maybe they really don't have a clue as to why they are sitting on the council. Maybe they believed all their campaign promises and they are waiting for the brain fairy to visit them. With one swipe of her wand, she will be able to show them they have all the control. Sounds like a fantasy right? Well, it is and its a fantasy to think that anything in Wilmer will change. Even with a new council things are status quo. They need to read the Texas Codes and find out just how much power they have. As time goes on, it becomes clear that this is why Hudson hand picked his running mates. He actually found 3 people in Wilmer who still believe his lies....LOL This is a city that is run by its council, SO council run IT!! Take the wind out of Hudson's sails and do the right thing. Hudson does not have the right to remove or add anything to an agenda. You the council DO. USE IT.
We are right back where we started. 5 Council members to one Mayor. According to the math, the council wins? I used a question mark, because maybe my math skills are lacking. If you doubt this just look up the laws regarding General Law Cities. There is where you find out how little authority Hudson really has. His power is in his hand picked candidates. They may have claimed they wanted what was best for the city, but really they were being groomed by Hudson himself. Did anyone see the strings that were attached to these candidates while they were campaigning? They had to been there, because the strings are showing on the bench and Hudson is under the table pulling the strings. Aren't these called PUPPETS? To the new council members, "Call TML and get a ruling on how much power the Mayor has". You have the right to ask questions of them all day long. It's free legal advice for any official. Or you can ask your city attorney.
JUST DO SOMETHING. So back to this car issue, does it really matter if it got painted or not, the problem is that nothing goes before the council as it should and this is just the tip of the ice burg. This is one of many expenses that do not get approved. Have you asked your council members (any one of them) where we stand financially? Have any of you (Council) asked for a month to month report? Do they just vote to approve the open invoice reports each meeting? You are right this is not a Hudson matter, this is a Council Member matter. And it appears that 5 Council members do not care. Business as usual. They just like the idea that they can tell someone they are a city council member and get all the oohhs and aaahhhhs. Strictly an ego thing.

Anything that costs more than $200 has to be approved by 3 council members, unless it is an emergency (like the ambulance needs a new starter etc, then it is ratified, or utility bills that are paid monthly), but this can be done by a department head calling council members to get the approval. The approvals would be found written on the purchase orders.

If I am reading the post from Anonymous of 8/3/08 9:38PM correctly, it looks like our governig body has empowered itself to act at times other than in open meetings. Which calls to question the accuracy of Jim Jones' quote: "The City Council members have no authority except when they are voting in a council meeting."
What's really troubling with this comment is that the department heads can spend up to $200 without ANY approvals - AND if my understanding is correct, any amount can be approved with an alleged telephone conversation with 3 council members - no official meeting, no public discourse, and no public vote. And since it can be handled by phone, there's no signatures as to who approved the expense, only "notes" on the Purchase order.
WILMER NEEDS A RIGOROUS OUTSIDE AUDIT.

You do not get it, do you. I was being facetious. I see Don Hudson as Jim Jones, the self made Mesiah of Wilmer as Jones was the Mesiah of his herd. I signed the blog that way to keep all of you reminded of what the Hudson-Mayor will do for you!

Now, the reason the Hudson-Mayor has all the authority is because the council allows it. The reason items get on the agenda or not is because the council lets him make the agenda without oversight. The Mayor does have final word on the agenda unless council members override him...think they will? NOT. It is happening because the Hudson-Mayor has a new, uneducated council that believes all of his lies and does not question him thinking he has the experience to know all the right answers. Lange won't question the Hudson-Mayor, they have too much evidence on each other. Now take your drink and go lie down, it will all go away very soon.

Are you kidding me. The only reason Wells has a new car is the pay back for protecting the Hudson gang. This man couldn't be a Chief of the dog pound in any other city. He has to follow the Hudson law book because it's how he became Police Chief in the first place. Until the public finally gets sick of the Hudson Law or Wickliffe Law will this city ever change.

Anonymous said...

It is changing now! For the worse! Now you've got to deal with Hudson law, Lange law, Wells law, Hagen law and Leal law. What else matters? Deal with it people, YOU voted them in.

Now, speaking of deals, where can I get mine Hudson? Down on Neck Road in Palmer? Over on Second Street? Over in the Meadowridge Slums? How about that lil tacoria on Pleasant Run?

The council members are the ones that need to wake up...they all know about the Hudson/Lange/Wells illegalities, they are just as culpable. Ignorance does not excuse you or keep you out of it. You are now a part of it too, merely by your position on the council! Remember that. You allow it without reporting it, involved or not. GUILTY!

Well guess what I didn't vote for the idiots and me and 3,000 other citizens are having to deal with it. Until some outside agency takes a look and makes these law breakers pay the price we'll have to continue to deal with it.

WAKE UP WILMER

Thats right you and 3,000 other citizens are stuck with them. Because 3,000 people in Wilmer stayed home and did not vote! Now I know that number is not a true number, but even the few hundred that stayed home could have and would have made a huge impact on the out come of this election and all elections in Wilmer. That has always been the problem. Until the voters come out and vote, Wilmer will continue to see these same people in office. Maybe they need to quit looking for an outside agency and change the future of Wilmer themselves by VOTING. Most people from the outside, just shake their heads and say, "Well, they(people in Wilmer) keep voting them in". It would be nice to see others get involved and come up with a way to get the citizens of Wilmer to open their eyes, hear the lies, see these people for who they are and vote some really honest people in office. Then once they are in office, these citizens need to show them continued support (if they do the right job) and let them get the job done that needs to be done completely clean house, from top to bottom. Hire people that are qualified to do the jobs. Supervisors' that supervise. Employees that work and office personnel that can do the job and do it right. Hire someone with a degree that is hire than a high school diploma that can get this nice city back on track. Until this happens this site will continue to get responses that are negative and full of old history. History has away of repeating itself and no where is this more apparent that in Wilmer. I will sign this:
A CITIZEN THAT STILL BELIEVES THAT THIS CAN BE A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE!
